Wenatchee-Skykomish by Georender
The New World Series features 'rural airports' that are in some way or other linked to not only the technology (and noise) of flying, but also the peace of nature. Places where one can hang over the fence on a Sunday afternoon in summer and watch the planes come and go... and dream about flying one day oneself. But also places where one can hear the birds sing in the nearby forest on a quiet Sunday morning. Places where one can meet friends and aviation enthusiasts, people who fly because they love to fly.... or even just to be around.

Our second title in the series is called Wenatchee-Skykomish. As you may well know Georender is Richard's 'design name' and has become a hallmark for unparalleled quality in scenery design. He is responsible for a series of Georender sceneries which are published by LAGO. Richard is now working with FSAddon to build a new series of airports in Washington (and possibly elsewhere !).

Wenatchee State lies along the Wenatchee River and near Leavenworth and Wenatchee, in Washington. Lake Wenatchee is a favorite place for recreation, with a few camp grounds along it's shores and the national park bordering it. It is a very quiet airfiled and closed after October. Skykomish State is a little more frequently used strip, closer to a main road and railraod, just after Steven's Pass. Both airfields are for small GA planes only and used mainly for leisure flying by outdoors lovers and fishermen.

To give you an idea of what the scenery looks like, we have collected a fair number of screenshots for you to browse.

Here are some of the features that you will encounter in this add-on:
  • Another Georender add-on with MicroScale texturing effects that simulates grass blades
  • 2 airstrips included: 27W Lake Wenatchee State and S88 Skykomish State, both in Washington, USA
  • Unique Georender blended runways
  • Unique Georender lighting effects
  • Animated gmax ‘objects’ in many places, for you to discover, powered by VistaMare’s IntelliScene.
  • Full seasonal and night texturing
  • Optimized, high-resolution textures for airport
  • Autogen trees and buildings
  • It’s own 38 m mesh, provided by FSFreeware
  • Unique, custom made sounds by Mike ‘Doc’ Apsey
  • Specially made objects that MOVE around: a few cars, boats, and true-to-life fully functional windsocks!
  • AFCAD2 file for 27W and S88, with custom made GA traffic by Peter McLeland.

These titles were great fun to help create and from reactions on forums and emails we already know that you will enjoy them as much as we do !

Now, whilst you get to find your way around, finding the Orcas to photograph them, or Stevens Pass to hop over, we are embarking on the next title !!! Stay tuned !!
