Who doesn't know the name of Bill and Lynn Lyons !?
They have been making add-ons for Flight Simulator for longer than most of us can remember!
And although they are 'gone' from the scene from time to time, they keep coming back to surprise us with wonderful little gems of add-on aircraft AND scenery.
And now we are thrilled to welcome them into our little team of designers to add their magic to FSAddon's range of Flight Simulator products.
As you will have read in the news - and can see from the pictures below - the first 'FSAddon/Lyons' product will be a LITTLE bit different than previous packages...... a business jet !!!?? What happened to those wonderful old aircraft models Bill used to make ???
Well, let me tell you, this sleek Sino business jet is just as much fun to fly around as Bill's previous aircraft !
Sure, it has jet engines, it is FAST, it makes a funny whining noise when starting her up, it has a 'posh' interior complete with champagne and computer wizzardry....... none of that old wood-and-linen feel of some of his other creations.
But it IS a typical 'Lyons Creation'.
You'll find a bunch of hangars on a few airfields (and you can place more YOURSELF !), complete with sports car, sliding doors and the occasional 'limo' carrying your Very Important Persons that you are suppose to take to their various destinations.
And you'll find other fun and creative things.... such as the red carpet laid out when you open the aircraft door for your VIP's. Or the iPod in your cockpit (download and install your favorite mp3 songs and play them while flying !). Or the functional notebook back in the cabin! (If you have Active Camera, you can move yourself into the passenger seat and see the route you are flying directly displayed on that notebook !!).
It has a nice and simple virtual cockpit, with all the electronics you might expect i such an aircraft. And thanks to George Aubele there is even a nifty flight data computer built into the panel, showing lots of practical things, such as your fuel usage, temperatures, wind speed and direction and much more. And it is SIMPLE to use too..... !!
Oh, and a choice of three different VIP couples to fly around.... see if you can recognize them.
But what is perhaps even more important.... you will now have the opportunity to fly a fairly complex aicraft without having to master a myriad of buttons, gauges and procedures. Bill has kept operating the aircraft simple, and you basically just can hop in, flick a few switches, and be on your way..... iPod singing, passenger sipping champagne, and enjoying the sunrise !! This is meant to be a FUN AIRCRAFT, like all of Bills creations are, allowing you to enjoy the world below and use your imagination. Who wouldn't love to fly some of these famous people around, eh?
