Orcas Island by Georender

The New World Series features 'rural airports' that are in some way or other linked to not only the technology (and noise) of flying, but also the peace of nature. Places where one can hang over the fence on a Sunday afternoon in summer and watch the planes come and go... and dream about flying one day oneself. But also places where one can hear the birds sing in the nearby forest on a quiet Sunday morning. Places where one can meet friends and aviation enthusiasts, people who fly because they love to fly.... or even just to be around. Watch this space.. the first title, designed and created by none less than the 'nature master' himself, Richard Goldstein, has already appeared in February !

O
ur first title in the series is called Orcas Island by Georender. As you may well know Georender is Richard's 'design name' and has become a hallmark for unparalleled quality in scenery design. He is responsible for a series of Georender sceneries which are published by LAGO. Richard is now working with FSAddon to build a new series of airports in Washington (and possibly elsewhere !).

Orcas Island lies off the northern coast of Washington state, and is quite a tourist attraction at times. People come here not only to watch the orcas, but also indulge in boating, flightseeing (there are quite a few floatplane operators around), horse riding and even treasure hunting.

To give you an idea of what the scenery looks like, we have collected a fair number of screenshots for you to browse.

You can purchase Orcas Island by Georender from simMarket, as a 52 mb download or have it delivered to you on a CD.

This first title was great fun to help create and from reactions on forums and emails we already know that you will enjoy it as much as we do !

Now, whilst you get to find your way around, finding the Orcas to photograph them, we are embarking on the next title !!! Stay tuned !!
